Well,I went to Santorini this summer.Went to Oia.Din't like it.To many people and to narrow streets.I mean some may find it scenic,I found it claustrophobic(might had something to do with the fact I twisted my ankle that morning, was in extreme pain and the small, cramped streets with all the stairs didn't make it any better, lol).I would recommend seeing the sunset from a restaurant in Fira city, there are many restaurants with roof gardens, nice food, nice atmosphere, less crowded and a beautiful view over the volcano at sunset(and a whole lot cheaper than the ones in Oia)
Other things you must do/see:We stayed at Kamari for two days and two days in Fira town.We loved Kamari,it has a milder nightlife(therefore we liked it more)a great little bar(sorry can't remember the name) with live music every night(blues most of the nights and rock ballads some of them) which was great, very friendly people, good prices,we loved it!!(we even went from Fira to Kamari one of two nights because we hated the Fira clubbing nightlife).Do go on a donkey ride to the old port. It's very fun and the old port is just beautiful.Kamari also has a great beach,a must see and visit...We didn't get to the red beach(we didn't have enough days) but it's supposed to be very pretty.Amolithos beach was a dissapointment, the only good thing about it is it's near Fira, but for a few minutes more I'd recommend you going to Kamari beach.A trip to the volcano is a must! Also there are a lot of boat excursions you can go to(one goes to all the famous beaches of Santorini).Basically everything you'll see or do in Santorini will be memorable,it's a great island, really beautiful and really worth a visit...

RE:
Best Spot To Watch the Sunset in Santorini?
Hi, where is the best spot to watch the beautiful sunset in Santorini?
I understand that Oia is very popular, therefore can be overcrowded.
So is there any alternative spot which is less crowded?
What are the must see and must do in Santorini? We intend to rent a moped around the...

Sunset is amazing pretty much everywhere in Santorini. I would definitely suggest a trip to Oia but make sure you get there at least 1 hour before sunset to get a nice table if you will be having sundowners or eating. Another great location depends on where you are staying. We stayed at Firostefani at Mill Houses and didn't need to go anywhere else all week for sunset - it was amazing.
A few other things to do in Santorini is probably the usual - boat trip to the volcano, red beach and black beach. Less popular but definitely worth a try would be to go for winetasting at the many wineries Santo being my favourite, also http://www.oia-1800.com/ which is a magical place to eat.
Good luck and be safe on the moped - they drive like maniacs!

You are right Oia is extremely crowded during that time of the day. Busloads of tourists cram into the tiny streets and theres a massive pushing and pulling to get the best place to see the sun going down. We spent a couple of weeks there and experienced that mess in Oia only once.
We found a great place to watch the sundown. Sorry cant remember the name but its very easy to find. Just take the road out of Oia and keep right along the caldera. Just when the road starts to take a steep drop in the middle of a curve you will see, on your right hand side a winery where you can also sample the various wines they have. Go inside the front door and buy a glass or two of the samples (you will get some olives and cheese for free) then go out the back door and sit down right at the edge of the caldera which is hundreds of feet below you for a breathtaking view of the sunset. It will be totally peaceful as all of the tourist are cramped up in Oia. Have fun!

Santorini, as you've already been told, is great and romantic and just ideal for a honeymoon! Best location to stay is Imerovigli which is on Calntera(the sharp cliff) and has a lot of ''honeymoon Villas'' but I must tell you that Santorini is one of the most expensive spots in Greece! My suggestions are the following,Andros,Naxos and Koufonisia,Crete and Kefallonia! definitely choose an island if you intend on coming to Greece in summer! Congrats on your wedding!!!!

You can go to Firostefani for the sunset, near Fira. Or to some of the cafes on the Caldera at Fira (Franco's is the most famous).
As for other things, don't miss the ancient city that was preserved by the lava at Acrotiri. You can also go to Mesa Gonia where there is an interesting byzantine church (Episkopi), and near Mesa Gonia there is a horse riding centre, where you can go for a horseback tour by the beach. Don't miss Oia, and don't forget to visit the volcano.
