Dear Matthew,
First let me say that i'm neither a Spurs or Suns fan-- i'm a Laker fan- so i could really care less in terms of any Western conference finals not involving my Lakers.
That being said- i am a basketball fan. First let me say Horry's shot was a dirty-shot but for all the consipracy theorists that Horry did it to provoke the suspension- that's just off. He's Big Shot Bob- so why would he get himself suspended?
Secondly the game that suspension cost the Suns was Game 6. Watching Game 6 it seems like the Spurs were more affected by the Suspension than the Suns. The Spurs played terribly almost as if they felt guilty for the suspensions and the Suns definitely had their chances to win and steal that game. i think had both teams been at full strength- the veteran savy of the Spurs would have found a way to pull it out.
Phoenix has a great team but playing what-ifs is almost just taking a survey of who likes which team. Phoenix fans believe they were cheated. Spurs fans believe that the Spurs would have won anyhow. As a basketball fan- i obviously wished we could have seen a 7 game series with no suspensions and both teams at full strength- but even before the Series i felt that the experience of the Spurs and defense would win out.
Kindly,
Nickster

I think that they would have won. Because the Suns are pretty much the best overall team (even though I am not a fan), along with the Mavs. The Mavs would have gotten beaten by Golden State anyway so the Suns would have gone all the way (sorry Spurs fans). I don't even like the Suns that much but it's the truth, they have too many good players (Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire, Shawn Marion, etc.). I am a fan of Miami but they lost :(

i think that the series would have gone to 7 and the suns would have won it in a nail biter u could see the series shifting when that happened too. Robert Horry was probably sipping on what ever he was drinking in some expensive hotel and saying came through again horry didn't ya.

That wasn't really the point. I can't bring myself to blame Horry for them losing the series. It was moronic to deliberately hip check Nash, but the Suns losing wasn't his fault. The problem was the idiotic fiasco involving Stoudemire and Diaw merely standing up, which apparently accounted for "leaving the bench." Had they not made that completely unconscious mistake thus resulting in suspension, they would have had a greater opportunity at winning.
It's undeniable that San Antonio was the stronger team regarding defense though. Phoenix never truly stood a chance against them.

FOR THE 1,000,000th TIME, SUNS FANS STOP WHINING. If Robert Horry was on the Suns and "cheap shotted" Tony Parker or Manu Ginobili you guys would've loved it. You should be asking youself, if those idiots Diaw and Stoudamire hadn't LEFT THE BENCH, would the Suns have won? Probably not, but then you all wouldn't have something to complain about. Give it a rest already.

Although I think that the Suns got cheated out of a championship, with that cheap foul, the Spurs have been their achillies heel for some time now. Just like Golden State was the Mavs'. Hopefully they can both find a way to fight those issues off.

I tell everyone that same thing all the time. No one agrees with me, but I'm sure that Robert Horry knew Stoudemire would back up Nash. By getting Stoudemire suspended, the Spurs won.

How? Prior to this year's playoff meeting the Suns had only beat the Spurs 4 times in 4 seasons.
To win the series, they needed 4 wins.
Since it took the Suns 4 seasons to get 4 wins--how do you figure they were going to get 4 wins in the next 7 games?

I agree with you, suspending Amare Stoudemire and Raja Bell (or Boris Diaw which ever it was) was bullshit. Spurs got lucky and everyone knows it, that year was the year of the Suns..to bad before the season started that year I chose the Spurs to win the Championship..even though I despise the Spurs!

i think it would've been a closer series and it would've gone to 7...
after that there's no telling...it just depends on who wanted it more, yes the spurs are a great team and i respect them (thought i hate them...) but the suns are known to be miraculous and with Nash wanting the championship so bad who's to say the refs wouldn't have called every little thing on bowen and nash would've gone on a 42 point night?
who's to say that duncan or ginobili wouldn't have gone on a 30 point night?
it's all what ifs...i'd like to believe that but we'll get another chance this season if we get a big man
