outlaw abortion?
I suspect it's because then they'd lose the carrot they have every election year to draw the biblethumpers vote. If it wasn't an issue anymore, the redneck south would realize why they live in a trailer and be angry at the neocons who have mislead them all these years.
Nope, abortion is here to stay and the neocon leadership likes it like that.

Numerous reasons.
1) Clinton was in office the first six years of the Republican congress, and Clinton wouldn't have signed the bill into law.
2) When Bush did get into office they did outlaw Partial Birth Abortions, and much to the chagrin of liberals the Supreme Court upheld the bill.
3) If a bill banning abortion had come to Bush, and he did sign it into law, chances are the Supreme Court would have overturned it saying it's unconstitutional.

You're not entirely wrong. It is a convenient fact that the right can't get this issue fixed. But it is more complex than you phrase it. You can as easily and as truthfully say that the white liberals don't dare allow abortion to be outlawed because it is a way to keep minority populations from overwhelming them in their own party.

Here allow me to say it before they get a chance....
Clinton's fault!
In reality, it is just a way to get votes. People who are educated realize that in the past abortion has been illegal in many places, and didn't prevent anything, but cleanliness and proper practice.
You can't keep crying about wanting lower taxes, and want more laws. Someone has to pay to enforce them.
Just another endless war for reelection.

The truth is if they outlawed abortion in 18 years we'd be a$$ deep in liberals. Since we can't kill them we let their mothers do it. Great Job Libs! Keep up the good work!

You are correct. If they did something about it, it wouldn't be an issue any more and they could possibly lose a portion of the religious vote.
