I need help with with my English Essay! Please help me Yahoo! Answers and Yahoo! users!!!=)?

Hey again Yahoo!! Hey, again! This is my second time asking today, so i hope i can get a quick answer like i did earlier, like in 10 seconds!!! So here you go. I had to come up with a Thesis for a topic in my English class, and I chose " More and more people are dying from all the diseases in this world everyday". Okay, and now i have to write about what i can do about it, like what can i do to help. I put down that scientists can do research on all these diseases to make new medicines, but that's all i got. So please help me=) i hope i made sense, thanks Yahoo! and Yahoo! people!!!=)

You have to be more specific about which diseases. Find out what the top 5 -10 are and write about those.

Some of what you can talk about is prevention programs through education, as in the case of AIDS. That kind of disease can be cut down by educating people about how to cut down their risks. Other diseases can be cut down if you discover them early. In many countries there isn't enough money and education to get people in to the doctor to be screened for colon cancer, breast cancer, prostate, etc. Also people don't know they're in danger.

Some diseases, like heart disease, can be prevented through diet and regular check ups.

Not all of the ways to fight disease come AFTER the disease is already there. A lot of it is prevention and early detection.

You have so much more to contribute. Don't leave it all to scientists. What you can do is write about people who volunteer for agencies that help people. I woked for no money for an agency that enlightened juveniles about STD's (sexually transmitted diseases). Your paper might be ok, but you putting it off on others and not including yourself.

Did you know that there are orginazitions that want volunteers badly, even like 2 hours a week or a couple days for a few hours? Those people are the ones who give of them selves to help others. I did that and it was easy and fun also. I helped young people to know the dangers of having sex and our orginazition provided counceling for these people. I woked there for two years for no pay, because I thought the cause was worth it.

You talk about people dying all the time. Well, find an organization that helps people not die. Write your paper about orginazitations that assist people who try to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and how they counsel those who unfortunatly did contract those desieses and how they help them

You are doing the right thing by asking questions, but there becomes a time when you have to get somewhat involved to write a good paper. Combine what your intent of help is with his information and you will be surprised and what you can write and I would not be surprised if you were the top of your class.

Your scientests will make no impact on your paper. You have to state how YOU can make a difference; not them.

There are many diseases in the third world which can be reduced by:-

a) clean drinking water
b) better hygiene
c) more hospitals & hospital staff
d) more basic drugs
e) better education about how to avoid diseases like AIDS.
f) better nutrition
g) a better standard of living

All these can be achieved by injecting more funding into the poor countries like Africa. Or by writing off debt (which is the same thing). The West has plenty of money and resources to resolve these problems. We can eliminate world poverty if we have the will to do it.

Hi, how about putting that education is key to helping fight disease--teaching people in developing nations about ways they can avoid certain diseases and also teaching people in our country how to help fight diseases in other countries by raising money. Our church youth group raised money for Nothing But Nets, a global campaign to fight malaria in Africa by the simple solution of purchasing mosquito nets! Hope this helps you, good luck!
