Termites don't have the ability to hear, however, I would think vibration would negatively effect eating habits. They do their "hearing" through vibrations. The only way I could imagine that music would alter eating habits in a more aggressive manner would be if they some how confused the vibration as communication from other termites. They do communicate through pheromones as well as subtle vibrations, but their vibrations would be very subtle and seemingly unlike that of rock music. It sounds like someone in your class is just not well informed.

Perhaps the vibrations from the music will pass through out the wood causing the termites to believe there is some sort of disturbance making them act differently. Most termites do not dance.

Why don't you study them? Find some and put in a terrarium with some wood. Then play different kinds of music to find out. Honestly, they don't have ears.

They can't hear and they can't see. That means they would skip the music and the videos.
