I got the laptop a few months ago, and the wireless was working fine, then I lost my connection ( happens once and a while ) but I could not connect back into. Any idea whats wrong ? Or tips on what I can do? It's a toshiba, with the wireless switch, and the switch is on, I'm always running on Windows XP. I've tried system restore and the repair button none have worked so far. Any help would be greatful : )

It is my connection ! When I hit connect a box comes up and says it is trying to connect to the wireless connection but it just never connects. The signal is strong, and other laptops in the house does work. How would i go about re-installing the driver?

Is it YOUR wireless connection you can't connect to ? If not then maybe the neighbours got fed up of you stealing theirs and set up Wifi security.

If it's yours you need to state if you get errors or anything.
Try reinstalling the drivers for the wireless card if you need to ! (Contact Tosh support for specific advice, prob all on their website)

Go through the control panel/network connections and right click on the device. Select properties. In the window box that opens double click the line with TCP/IP. Make sure there is not an address by selecting DHCP or Automatic. Uncheck the box for DNS entries. OK out and then try a repair. It may be necessary to open IE and select Tools/Internet Options/Communications and run set up. Do it as a standalone, Manual, and don't bother with the last step to create a file or disk. On the same page at the bottom is a Lan Settings. Click on it and make sure nothing is selected for Proxy (not even Automatic). Close and restart IE. If the site does not come up, try logging into the router to make sure you are connected to it. Good Luck.

Are you connecting to your own wireless network? If so, try to reset the router and make sure that you are indeed connecting to YOUR wireless account. To do this, double click the icon that connects to the wireless accounts and under properties you can select which account you want by default. If you are choosing other accounts, make sure that their isn't a lick nect to the acccounts, meaning that they are secure and you can not gain access.

Step two would be to make sure that your drivers are up ro date. Go to your manufacture's website and get the updates availabe for the drivers.

well it could be the receiver but it might be built in so you might have to ask a professional to look at it or the source giving the signal is bad
