Magglio or Arod? AROD has better numbers, but Magglio has meant more to his team. Maggs has gotten clutch hit after clutch hit all season while AROD has batted .250 since the All Star break. The season is not over yet, but I think as of right now Magglio is the MVP of the league. No way the Tigers are where they are at with out him, that can't be said for AAROd

"Vlade or A-Rod
Maggs, ok, but not MVP ok."
Jesus these are absurd statements, besides the fact that I think magilio is doing more for the tigers than any other player in baseball is doing for his team, how about some of you guys take a better look at Ordonez's individual NUMBERS, you'll see he is quite "MVP ok".
.353 Best Batting Average in baseball
.426 On Base Percentage 3rd best in baseball
.596 Slugging Percentage 4th best in baseball
113 RBI's 2nd in baseball
24 HR's 15th best in baseball, 5th best in AL
Of those 5 categories, Vladimir Guerrero tops magilio ordenez in, wait let me count....ZER0 TIMES. Now I don't care if you say Vlad should be mentioned in the runnnings because he is having a monster year too, but don't say Magilio is not MVP calibur compared to the other two. If yankees make Wild Card and A-Rod is the player most responsable (not counting pitching staff) than I say he gets it. Since A-Rod is slowing down when the yanks need him most, and Mags has been consistently good all year, minus a bad first April month, I think Ordonez should get the award.
1. Mags
2.A-Rod
3. Vlad
Definately the best 3 right now

Hey Trent,
i would say that at the end of the year a big factor is where the teams end up. Right now the Tigers are struggling and may lose the division to the Indians and the Wildcard to the Yankees.
I'd give the nod to A-Rod right now because he pretty much carried the Yankees and as lousy of a year as they are having- they are right in the thick of things.
Magglio has been huge- but the Tigers were winning when they were pitching well and even though Magglio has been hitting well the Tigers still aren't winning lately because of pitching woes.
i think where the teams finish will be a factor in who deserves the MVP.

genuine 5 M.V.P.'S so as OF value (a million. Alex Rodriguez - Do I even could desire to describe? fifty two HR's a hundred and forty + R.B.I.'s and is having a solid fielding 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. The M.V.P. of all of MVP. (2. Jorge Posada - human beings theory he grew to become into exiting his best 2 years in the past, properly on the grounds that '05 his numbers have stepped up each season. he's merely downright magnificent. For that, HIP HIP Jorge! (3. Derek Jeter - whilst isn't this guy no longer consistant? He has had yet another large 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. (4. Robinson Cano - inspite of the fact that having a dreadful 1st a million/2, Rocking Robby has been large all mutually this season. (5. Bobby Abreu - Has been yet another guy who has highlights very almost on a daily basis. inspite of the fact that having a bad 1st a million/2. Cy Youngs (a million. Andy Petitte - Has been the main consistent guy on the Yankees this season. (2. Wang - human beings theory he's an entire fluke in '06, properly this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days he has had a miles extra powerful season then final ones. (3. Joba Chamberlain - Has presented the Yankees with large bullpen. (4. Luis Vizcano - Has been large as a bullpener. (5. Roger Clemens - according to possibility no longer the excellent stats guy on his team, yet has lifted the Yankees in the process the 2d a million/2. If he cant do it bodily, he will do it mentally.

Although Maggs is having an unbelieveable year for the tigers...I gotta say AROD is more valuable...the yankees have no pitching, and had no hitting before the all star break. I do agree that Maggs is as valuable as AROD but don't forget AROD has had some clutch hits this year too...ps i hate the yankees more than anyone on earth...so this is as unbiased as it gets....damon,clemens, boggs u r all dead to me...god bless frankie c

I would say that neither of them are my candidate right now.
A-rod started off great, but since then has been just another average player. there's no individual player on the yankees right now that stands out as a league mvp. also since the yankees wont make the playoffs, they'll never pick an mvp from that team anyway.
Maggs is having a career season, but I think there's one other guy who's carrying his team more than Maggs is carrying the tigers... and that's Vladdy for the Angels.

A-Rod is the MVP of the league and most valuable to the Yankees. A-Rod carried the Yankees on his back for the entire first half of the season. Without A-Rod the Yankees would have been the worst team in the league coming into the All Star break. We all knew the Tigers were gonna be good this year as long as they got good years out of their other good players (Pudge, Sean Casey, Gary Sheffield, Curtis Granderson, Placido Polanco), and had a good year from their starting rotation.

First off to say the Yankee's are only in the Wild Card because of A-Rod is absolutely ridiculous. They haven't been winning games because of two or three runs they've been kicking the snot out of most teams.
Secondly I've always hated the MVP award. It should be the most valuable teammate which would go to Magglio Ordonez by only a little bit more. True A-Rod accounts for 20% of the Yankee's offensive output, but really clutch? He's hit game-winning home runs off of teams like the Orioles(Who gave up 30 runs). Truth be told Magglio is a team player plain and simple. He's more clutch cause he doesn't rely on the long ball. A-Rod does. That's why A-Rod is the MVP but Magglio is the MVT

[ [ Why are you scared of us Yankee fans? LOL
A-Rod is the answer.
Its not even a biased answer.
Remember, without A-Rod, we could've forgotten about the Wild-Card more than a month ago.
Now we are talking division, thanks to him.
Respect to Magglio. Some MVP he was when the Yankees crushed the Tigers not even a week ago.
without A-Rod killing it...?
you are a joke. ] ]
// EDIT: The Yankees have a better record than the Tigers. Hush now. \\

I am a Yankee fan but this is not a biased answer. Yes Arod has been slumping lately but you cant say that he has not been clutch. He has had many walkoff hits this season. And also Arod is better in everything but average.

Ordonez, hands down. (Sheffield also may be more valuable to the Tigers than A-Rod is to NY.)
Without Mags and Shef, Tigers are looking way up at Cleveland and Minnesota.
Without A-Rod, the Yanks are right where they are now. Chasing Boston, buying a pitcher when needed, and getting offense from all kinds of high-dollar guys.
