This is the situation. You are successful in the office. You realize one of your co-workers is copying you pretty much in every aspects; how you wear your nails, how you talk, how you dress, how you deal with clients. First, you think she's doing this to catch your attention, but, eventually you wish her to stop imitating you. How would you tell her nicely?

I don't know about immature, but it sure shows they are very insecure. If you notice, I am sure everyone else notices. I probably wouldn't say anything, because than you would be lowering yourself to their level. They aren't hurting anyone by doing this. Pretty soon, she will probably pick someone else to copy. Maybe you should be flattered!

If this is the case, you should be flattered that she chose you as a role model. There is no way you can tell her to stop without sounding like an egotistical jacka$$ - even if it is totally true, you could come out sounding pretty full of yourself. You really have 2 options, ignore her and do your work (it's why you're there anyway) OR the tougher option is to befriend her on a purely professional level and just take it as a compliment that she thinks so highly of you. I personally find the 2nd option to be of more value and show more maturity.

no way of being diplomatic about it...but imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and she is coping you because you have the style & confidence she lacks. just try to ignore her as best you can and she may move on to start coping someone else.

Why are you so negative on this, it is a form of flattery, she looks up to you. Your negative comments are going to hurt her and maybe even create a enemy. Think about offering her something else to focus on, maybe a old friend.

well she is obviously impressed by you. but i don't really think there is anything you can say. maybe you can wear something really hideous one day and she will lose interest in copying or if she does people may tell her she looks like an idiot.

Well, I think she is so jealous of you that's why she is copying you so why don't you talk to her and tell her that you don't like the way she is doing...........
