I heard today there's a family in California who had a son killed in Iraq a few days ago. They also had another son killed in Iraq in 2004. They had three sons. Now there is only one left.

Questions for Bush supporters:

What did their two sons die for? (please DON'T give us the "freedom and democracy" or "fighting terrorism" or "liberating Iraq" shpiel--those of us who live in the real world are tired of hearing that propaganda).

What would you tell their parents (whose lives have now been ruined) if you were able to talk to them?

If you are one of the small minority of people in the U.S. who still supports this war, how do you sleep at night?

I, for one, agree with you. I too am tired of the bogus stories and propaganda our government is trying to stuff down our throats. We have been lied to in order to keep this war going. It is one of Bush's pet projects. I hope that America can survive until November 2008. Now I wonder how many thumbs down I'm gonna get for this opinion.
I WANT TO ADD I support the soldiers over there fighting and I chat with several. They are doing their job, what they were ordered to do. I do not, however support Bush's war!

I feel bad for this family, such a waste.
I think that maybe this family is a Proud military family that realise the risks of being in this career choice, and don't forget that it was actually a choice for this man and his brother to join the military, I am not saying they joined thinking that they would get killed but surely the second brother having his sibling killed in 04 would have known the risks.
I am thankful that there are men and women American, British and Australian fighting for our freedom, this is something that happens in war people die. Doesn't make it any easier or right.
I am pretty sure the family of these men are very proud and patriotic Americans that have a lot of grief to deal with, so if more people actually supported them rather than saying their sons died in a war that had no support from its' citizens, it may help them rather than hearing the negative!

Get your lazy a$$ off of your high horse and go visit other countries on this planet. I was in Saudi and Iraq from Oct 90 to Apr 91 for the Gulf War. I was saddened by how people there cannot live their lives with the freedoms we take for granted here. We get to rant and rave about the idiots in our government and still sleep soundly through the night cause no secret police are going to show up and take us away. I feel everyone on the planet should be able to criticize their government. It is a good thing. Eventually, the criticism can cause change for the better. And don't even get me started on how females are practically non-citizens in those countries. If a female there did 1/10th of the things a female here can do in the US, she'd be killed on the spot and that is no exaggeration.
Also, there are people on this planet that truly feel from the depths of their hearts and minds that all "satanic infidels" should be removed from the surface of this planet. Are you a citizen of the US? If so, then you're one of those "satanic infidels". Some of us infidels have decided it isn't nice having people want to come attack us so we do things to take away their weapons and industry used to attack us or remove them instead if necessary. Those who have made this decision are known as military service members.
So, is it a tragedy that their sons died? Of course it is. To paraphrase Patton, Duty and Honor are letting the other guy die for his country. But that doesn't always happen as planned and our service men and women die also. It is a sad fact of the human species that we WILL fight amongst ourselves. While their deaths were a tragedy, they were not completely in vain like you suggest.

What did their two sons die for?
Provisions in United Nations Security Council Resolution 687 (signed after the Gulf war) and Resolution 1441 (signed 2002) which state that the UN has the right and responsibility to have inspectors to ensure that Saddam was not building WMDs, they died because Saddam refused to allow inspectors to do just that.

What would I tell their parents if I was able to talk to them?
"I'm sorry for your loss, I've known a lot of good soldiers who've lost their lives and some of their last thoughts on Earth were I don't want my death to be in vein."

If you are one of the of people in the U.S. who still supports this war, how do you sleep at night?
Depends, on the time of year, sometimes I sleep on a cot, sometimes I have a bed, sometimes I'm piss out of luck and sleep on the ground. I'm often times woken up by the sound of mortars or RPG fire. I sleep just fine knowing there are still some people in America (both for and against the war) who don't just spout self-serving propaganda.

I sleep very well knowing that these brave men are fighting for
"Freedom and democracy" or "fighting terrorism" or "liberating Iraq"

I did the same damn thing during Vietnam so that your parents could smoke their dope and come up with the likes of YOU!!

What would I tell their parents, I would tell them that their sons were very brave but they died for what they believed in, then I would quote the Bible and say "There is no greater honor than to die for your fellow man"

many people join the military thinking not about politics, but growing stronger, both physically and mentally. the men knew what the stakes were, and it was their decision. bless their souls, since they are much braver beings than i!

i think that being in the military is one of the most amazing service a person can do to our country. many other countries REQUIRE their male citizens to be in the military (for example, israel), and their adult males are men, not immature boys like you, who can only think about politics when you hear of a death. you should be grateful, not going around online and complaining about something online since you probably have no one else to tell it to...

im not necessarily a republican, nor am i a democrat (im independent!!! :-D), so don't blame my beliefs on my political party or background. (i actually have a very liberal background...lol.)

im sure the parents of the two men who died are extremely saddened, but also proud that their sons fought a worthy cause that they believed in.

i'd like to ask you how you sleep at night? before we came into the middle east, they were basically in the dark ages using iron maidens to torture their citizens!! i do believe that our efforts have somewhat paid off, but i'm not a supporter of the war anymore...i don't think it's really going anywhere and religion is way more important to them than anything else, and they've been fighting this war, basically since they started fighting with the jews over the "holy land," and i doubt they'll ever give it up, but at first, i believe the wawr was a worthy cause.

i guess in some ways i agree with you, but in others, you're too liberal. watch FOX news, since they are very un-biased and let you decide for yourself, and quit watching CNN, as they are notoriously liberal...

Their two sons died for what they believed in.
After all it is a proved fact if any soldier refuses to go to war the punishment they receive is minimal to nothing. So our country has over half a million men and women in it service that believe the war is just. for if they want out it is not that hard to get out.
So all your cowardly liberal cra-p means nothing except to one old bitc-h whose son died in Iraq and we all know she just loved her son so much she gave him away as a youngster and recently was ready to give up another in another divorce .
I also would not call our brave men and women plus the support of their family's and vets of other eras a small minority.
To end this war we need a unified nation without folks of your weakness.

Well what is left to tell since you've dictated only what you want to hear?! We have a family that lost all three sons in Vietnam and you wouldn't dare give them this kind of attitude! And I hate to burst your bubble but it isn't a small minority supporting the war or our military!

you're certainly one of those sick vile person. How dare you attempt to sell your self and your reason with our lifeless militia individuals and their households. They cried by way of fact they lost their toddler. they're mourning. i'm confident they're proud of their son and that they comprehend what his interest grew to become into. It does not recommend that it does not harm all the comparable. by skill of crying, they're paying tribute to his courageous soul. Bravery is something you comprehend no longer something approximately. you're able to extremely come on-line and cover in the back of your puter. You cover in the back of the rights the militia protects for you.

the sons died for what they believe in!!!
its sad that it was not for a just cause!!!
it was for the egos of a minority of our hero worshippin leaders!!!

they thought the iraq situation would be a done deal like in afghanastan, quick and easy!!!

another sad thing is that if the administration, the f.b.i., the c.i.a. airlines, security, and everyone involved had done their jobs, listened to the warnings and shared the info they had they could have stopped the 911 attacks and they would not have been over their risking their lives!!!

thats what they chose to do is to put there life on the line for us back here at home!!!

so respect them for doin what they thought they were doin was right for us!!!

They died doing what they loved, serving their country. It has nothing to do with them believing in this war or not, it has to do with pride, their love of their job, and willingness to fight for it, knowing that becoming a casualty is a possibility.

As for their parents, I say God Bless You!
