Have you lost a lot of weight recently? Women athletes stop bleeding due to lack of body fat, their menses returns once they stop training. I would definitely make an apt. with your doc. & see what's going on with your body.

the best bet is for you to go to the doctor. Since i started mine when i was 14, it had been irregular. once in a while i had it once a month for 4 or 5 months but only if i was excercising. I thought i wasnt ovulating or something but i eventually got pregnant later. And now i only have a period twice a year. My son is 2 1/2 and i've only had 5 periods. The last one was back in May. I'm trying to get pregnant again but it seems impossible. But then again i'm over weight and i smoke cigarettes and i dont excercise much anymore. But maybe for you it could be stress, working too much, if you smoke or if your bmi is over the normal amount. The only way you'll find out is if you see a doctor. hope this helps.

while i am not a dr or nurse what you are describing isn't normal? how old are you? i know as you get older you go though "changes" or menopause and eventually stop having periods... if you midage this might be happening?
if you're really young like 13-16 it could be your a late bloomer and its just inconsistant...
either way you should discuss this with a dr as soon as possible. its could be caused by something serious! please get yourself to a dr soon and they can help you understand what's going on!

I would say that you should definately go see your doctor-just in case. Because you never know. Sometimes that happens when your ovaries fall and that could turn serious. Good luck!

I would say that it is very possible that you have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). I have a friend that has it and she cannot have a period without hormone injections and other pills. See your doctor.

so much depends on you - your physical health ie eating disorders, gyn disorders, etc. You need to be checked out by a gyn. The longer you let conditions like yours go, the more likely you are to have longer term complications (ie sterility)
