I also want to know where it is kept on the computer after it has been deleted by tools-clear private data. Also, how to get there.

Actually, the data is wiped after you delete it, there isn't a trash bin or any temporary location of that sort for it. This is due to security reasons, so people who wish to erase their history, can actually get rid of it.

You could however get software to retrieve data that's been deleted. When data has been deleted, only the harddrive mappings have been updated. The files themselves are still there, but you can't see them. Eventually, the files get written over, and it becomes less and less likely for you to get them back. Usually software that does this cost money, there may be some free alternatives available though.

By Default, the files you are interested in should be stored as part of your profile. The profile information is located in the following folder for Windows XP:
"%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\, where xxxxxxxx is a random string of 8 characters. Just browse to C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ "

Hope this helps, good luck!
