Respect for another person is shown primarily by the efficient use of manners.
Manners are the way you conduct yourself, in order to make the person(s) you are with comfortable and at ease.
It starts with presentation of yourself. You are automatically judged by the other person in the first15 seconds of meeting you. You haven't even opened your mouth, and have barely shook their hand, and they have an opinion of you.
So personal hygiene and manner and style of dress appropriate to the occasion, function or task you are at.
Next, how well-spoken are you? do you have a good command of the English language? Then use it to compliment the other and inquire with them subjects of interest to them , to allow them to speak knowledgeably, as they are trying to earn your respect as well!
Always smile, stand up straight(posture), and walk with confidence. (Fake it 'till you make it!)
There's a good start for you, and if you have further questions, re-contact me!
You'll do great! sincerely Paul A.!

What a great question! Spend your teenage years on collecting information from all kinds of sources. Learn to listen to people. They love it, and they will love you. Most people enjoy talking about themselves, and when they talk a lot, they end up revealing things about themselves... Listen, and in a few minutes you will know exactly who you are talking with and how he would like to be treated by you. Avoid judgment, simply observe and adapt positive behavior of people you respect. You will learn patience by keeping your own opinions to yourself for now. By doing that you will become the most loved person by everyone you know. Good luck sweetheart.

Smile. Keep opposing opinions to yourself.
Or say, I understand (summarize their opinion) and (do not say But or However), I think (our thoughts) because (the reason).
What this does is acknowledge their side without belittling their opinions (that's why you don't say but or however). Using the word "and" is a soft way to transition to your side.
In customer service it is called the Feel, Felt, Found model.
I know how you Feel, others have Felt that too, and we have found....

When you give respect, don't insult others and don't say unpleasent things. To give respect, is the easiest thing to do.
