Newfoundland, Bloodhound, Alaskan Malamute, Siberian Husky! They're amazing! And even though I'm not much of a pet person....dogs, especially those breeds, are amazing!

I bought a Collie when I was a young man and Ahab was a great dog. A companion to me through all of my drinking days and he had to be put down at 10.
I now have a Dalmatian that I rescued from the pound, Dolly is a great dog also. I love them equally, Ahab was better behaved and Dolly is more affectionate.

Your choices are excellent. I would add Chihuahua and long haired Dachsund also in the "small" dog category.
I owned a Husky for 12 years - they are so beautiful.

Maltese Terrier - my folks used to own one .... lovable , smart, a true friend !
Beagle - I owned one when I was a kid in high school .... lovable, a good burglar-alarm at night, faithful, energetic, not much dog-hair in the home, friendly, playful with young children, smart, learn tricks easily
Might sound foolish, but , I still miss that beautiful dog .
