Let's see, do nothing and get paid to do nothing.

welfare?

ok - something more realistic. Reality is that the lower the education required to do a job, the more likely it will require greater labor and pay lesser wages.

The reverse is also true; the higher the education required to do a job, the less labor intense will be the job and the higher will be the wages.

We also know that all 10 of the top 10 highest paying occupations in the US are medical doctors of the various specialties. We know too that medical doctors require among the highest levels of education. They tend, for the most part, to work in comfortable offices and their work isn't labor intense. That's the absolute answer to your question - MD

More realistically, the professions requiring advanced education and certifications (CPA, CFA, DVM, JD, etc...) are going to most likely fit into your objective of a labor free work life and a high salary. That doesn't mean these jobs are "easy" but they beat the daylights out of lugging bricks or flipping burgers.

A high school diploma is still worth something but not for all of the same reasons it use to be. It is vauable because it shows you can put forth a commitment to see something through to it's end. Employers really count that, after all nobody likes a quitter. A diploma doesn't count for much for a good paying job anymore though. With all the people out of jobs the competition for a job is fierce so why should they settle for a person who just has a diploma when they can get somebody with a degree. To get a job $50K-$100K without a degree? Good luck on that one!

My daughter gets paid VERY very well ( $1000s for a few weeks work) plus free dinners, special deals, etc. She works from home 2 days a week, on the computer then spends a day or 2 going to free lunches, appointments etc.. She gets nice clothes and freebies plus dinners.
She works like a lobbyist for her speciality which is getting money for aged care; but it could be mining, drugs, doctors, agriculture etc.
But first she had to study at University to totally KNOW her speciality.
MOST IMPORTANT she is NICE.
NICE to every-one, even if they call in the night from over-seas she is NICE. When they are rude she isNICE.
When she has to wait hours, days to see people she is NICE.
When people are stupid, slow, arrogant, etc she is NICE.
There are days when she rings me and wants to scream because she HAS to be NICE.
Her spelling, grammar and writing skills are absolutely BRILLIANTWhen she starts she has to write submissions, when she finishes and has got what she wanted she has to write reports and evaluations.
It can be a wonderful job but requires PATIENCE, a pleasant manner and being NICE
