Consider this job as only a temporary stop on your way to finding your passion.
Your present job is an opportunity to garner the needed resources to continue your other dreams when the time is right.
Meanwhile, try to accept your present state. There are always lessons to be learned and joys to be had, right here, right now.

In a way what you are going through is a lot like being in the military, you have no choice as to what you can do for the next year or so. The way that I accomplished what I did in a bad situation is this. Learn all you can about your job, you get paid to do it, so do it well. Make yourself valuable, understand that you are a value and not just a number. Make sure you project who you are and remain true to yourself, if you loose that you will have lost the fight. When you wake up everyday, see the things that you enjoy in life and know that those are the reasons to continue to do the things you do not like, sooner or later the bad things end, when they do, all the things that you appreciate in life will fill the void of what you left behind. Without no good to fill it, only bad will continue.

Why are you locked into this job for a year?
If you are a spiritual person, pray and pray some more whenever you have the opportunity.
Every man is a golden link to the chain of your good.
That line is from a book called The Game of Life and How to Play it by Florence Scovel Shinn.
If you can, read it and you will get through this. Remember there is always a way out of your situation. That has already been established.
Stay strong.

I woke up yesterday and realized that the job I have held for almost seven years is void of intellectual stimulation, conspicuously missing upward mobility, and kind of a social detriment (my career goals have been put on the back burner for some time, long story). The only way I have handled it is to do my best every day, and advance as far as I can in my position. I learned my superiors' jobs, and became able to do them better than they could. I took it upon myself to have more responsibility placed on my shoulders.
If this job is only a stop on the way to a career, why not make it a good reference on your resume? I find that if I do the best I can, even in a less than ideal situation, the negative effects are minimized, for me and others around me.

Hey, you know what, even though you hate your job, you shouldn't let yourself waste a year of your life. I think you should try to walk away from the experience with something, whether that is some new you learn or new skills, don't waste a year of just being negative. Cliche as it sounds, try to see the best of it. I used to hate my job and couldn't wait for another year so that I would be fully vested for my retirement and now, I have been promoted and actually enjoy my job. Good luck..

That's easy. Think this way. Okay, I'm yet again waking up early to go to some stupid job which I don't like. I'll just give my best to this job and try to love it. I can't guarantee I will not hate it, but at least I'm earning money. And if this money doubles, triples, and multiplies, I'll be rich enough to live the rest of my life in bed without worries. And how do I multiply my money? Going to this stupid job!Yeah!
I don't know if this will work but the least you can do is look on the bright side.

I had a job that I disliked, for a number of reasons. Each morning, I thought to myself , "There is more to life than work."
At the job, I looked for anything that I could like, such as speaking with different people and being helpful. You have to find your own, small though they may be, reasons to find some pleasure in the work environment. Often, there are skills and lessons you learn there that prepare you for the work that you will love. Keep looking for your opportunities to shine. C. :)!!

Yes, I can recall a job situation, even presently. I know of a young man who is a teacher's aide. He works out in the suburbs of Chicago. He has helped the "fools" at his job including the principal by being such an exemplary employee. He has encountered many women who have various setbacks because of lack of the companionship of men. They throw all the "garbage encounters" toward him. His principal who is a lady, has terminal cancer. After work, she has asked this young adult to stay after work for up to three hours, in order to help her with moving things or do paperwork. I told him to make himself scarce. No one else is available for this mess. He has been "on the job" for about 4 years. This year he was sent to another school. The problem is that this school is a part of a three-part school setting. It is set up as follows: pre-K - 2, 3 - 5 and 6 - 8. He knows how to work with the autistic and others who have special education problems. What pisses me off is that the ungrateful woman principal came over and had some unfavorable comments to make about him in his "new school setting." In other words, she made "fun" of him. He wanted to quit. I told him that you can't let a "fool," make a "fool" out of you. I don't know you but I do care about your dilemna. Maybe the jackasses that cause you problems, would be very happy if you quit. Would you give them that pleasure? Absolutely NOT. Remember this, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. - Psalm 68:19. You must take control of things "for the good." BEFORE you enter your home or any building, quietly say "Peace Be To This House." - Luke 10:5.
Those who are within the premises will be more placid. God and you can take credit for that. For day to day problems, read Psalm 35 (Plead My Cause). If you sincerely ask God for help, he will protect you from that which is known and that which is unknown. Keep a good thought about you. Peace, Love and God Bless.

Telling yourself that you have no option can be a MAJOR stressor. We make our own decisions daily. Is someone making this decision for you? Get alone, go for a walk. Decide if this is what you really want. Doesn't sound like it is. YOU and you alone must decide if the outcome will be worth it in the long run. If you are absolutely sure that it will be worth the stress you will be going through, doing what you need to get where you want to go can't be all that bad. Accept, let go of the "I hate it" and enjoy every day there with a knowing in your heart where you are headed - and that it's YOUR decision.

the way you cope is to have an interesting evening and weekend doing the things you really like to do.
The mixture you can have is either an exciting job or an exciting home life. To have both will wear you out. So if you have a dull, rote, tough job say like at work then the answer is to enjoy your home life.
