I had to think a little before responding to this question. Yes, it would be horrible to have the name "Dick" but when you say it, are you really thinking Dick? Do you know what I mean?
I have known some ***** and I have known some ***** and I never actually see a "dick" standing before me but a person.

Hello Saints in '08 :
I have two middle names .... one of them is 'Richard' . Naturally, the short-form for this is 'Dick' .
In this day and age , I'm very glad that my 1st name wasn' t Richard . Too many ridicules !
At work , we have a South Vietnamese gentleman named , Thihn Dhong . He' s a great guy and always smiling !
I think it's a real shame that the other guys at work nick-named him Skinny Dick .

my brothers name is dick...he was named when a dick was a name and not a penis...no one has more fun with his name than him
he actually considered changing his name, but not his 1st name...he wanted to change his last name to "O'Steel"
He says that when he was born, Mom took 1 look at him and said ,"This kids name is Dick"
when I named my son after my oldest brother, (Bob), dick protested, telling me "why didn't you name him dick? It's an old english name that means penis"

People who are intelligent and mature will think nothing of it. There are several famous people named Dick. Dick Clark, Dick Button, Dick Van Dyke, Dick Tracy (fictional I know), and others.

I know they would be teased, but I really like the name Richard and if I had a kid, I would nickname him Dick. You can't totally wipeout the name.
