i've ended up jumping all 3 safety swithes on my mower and jumping across the ignition relay, ended up replacing the ignition switch. of course as you know by now there is 1 under the seat, another is located near the handle when the blades are in the disengauged position, and another is located near the brake pedal.

Since most saftey switches are basically plastic, they wear out. Typically, the switches are on : the clutch pedal, deck engagement, seat, sometimes a reverse sensor. Remember, these switches make a circut, one open will cause it to not run. First thing id check : the fuse in the small wire from the starter solenoid on the battery side ( where battery hooks onto the solenoid) - this lead gives power to the ignition switch, in order to start the tractor. The seat switch would kill the tractor lifting off it - so you would know that works , the clutch pedal and deck sensors would cause it not to start only if the clutch wasnt pressed and the deck in off position ( my White LT12 has a lil light showing it was engaged and wouldnt start- same for the clutch) . Check the fuse and go from there. I dont suggest bypassing saftey switches, especially with children/pets in the area.

SInce you jump started it you know that the starter is good, I am betting there is one under the seat someplace and thats the first place I would look. Switch should read closed when depressed and open when your not on the seat......Good luck...and post what you find
