The story is about the forgotten stories of Walt Disney that he never wrote, they are each princes and princesses that each govern a land in disneyland and have to battle many disney characters in the process, i think it might sound a little too much like The Kingdom Keepers

I have read novels that have scenes that take place inside Disneyland. I think, as a famous location, a writer can do that. But if you start writing ABOUT Disneyland, and Walter Disney, and the copyrighted characters owned by the Disney Corporation, you might want to get some professional legal advice.
Do NOT rely on advice from kids who respond to your question, unless they happen to have a degree in copyright law.
Of course, you can write for the pleasure of writing and do anything you want. Selling books isn't the only good thing about writing them. It's a perfectly legitimate hobby that doesn't require getting published to be worthwhile.
I think people tend to forget that.

Disneyland® is registered, so its use except in a casual way requires their approval. The same is true of a great many of their characters. You can use a classical character, such as Cinderella, but not "Disney's Cinderella."

If the book is any good, you can sell it to Disney. If you sell it to anyone else, it'll cost money for licensing.

Very tricky. Disney is very very protective of their trademarks and their characters. This is another case where you would need a literary attorney. It could be that you would have to pay so much licensing that it would be prohibitive to do it. Disney is one company that does not hesitate to sue. Find a literary attorney and inquire. I would tend to think it would cost a lot for the licensing. Pax - C

Yes, I believe anything is possible. There have been movies and books that have been set in Disneyland in the past so I don't believe there would be any problems. The idea is a very good one and with a little tweaking could defintely turn into something...good luck!
