Those are usually a two piece unit and I have seen them installed in a garage they work great. They are probably a special order item if you don't go through a refrigeration supply house. If your a DIY er call a local AC guy and they should be able to help you out. I am an electrician and I usually call a someone I have seen out on the jobs......If you use god tact they may even sell you one at a little over cost, most likely without warranty.......Good Luck and heres an online link

Window units do not specifically pull air from outside and cool it. They recirculate the air inside the room just like a central unit, albeit not as efficiently. They will pull in a small amount of fresh air which can be desirable and this can often be adjusted. Window units usually also have a lower efficiency rating (SEER) than central AC. As for cutting a hole in a wall? Go for it. Mine is mounted in the wall, but it's not something you can always justify structurally or practically. I don't know of too many folks who have cut a whole in a wall lately. Most older apartments were built before central or window AC were common. Otherwise they probably would have made a hole for a unit when they were constructing the building.

During the early summer they are probably easy to find. Home depot had a couple wall units. You might be able to order one directly from whirlpool. Probably most Home Depot, Lowes, even your local hardware store can order you any number of wall units. Have fun cutting a hole in your wall to put in the unit.

Here is an online store that sells them. They are not cheap. I would buy a wall unit or if you want to go the most cost effective way, buy a window unit and install it in the wall.

buy a standard window unit , remove the pull out covers, [screws behind the flap at a/c ] cut a hole the size of the rear box on a/c ,slid it in from inside, Hint make hole next to an outlet, or run a new circuit to it, [ should have it,s own circuit,]
frame it out,

Here in Austin, there is a store that carries all kinds of that stuff. I did see an ad for one made my Mitsubishi that is similar but smaller than the ones you find in the smaller hotels.
