Yes, when your period first begins its never normal. Honestly...feel lucky...you could be like me and have it for 5 months straight after first getting it. That sucked.

When you are young it is normal for your periods to be irregular at first because your body is adjusting to a new hormonal cycle. There are however a few things that you should consider. If you are sexually active then you may need to consider the possibility of pregnancy. If this is not an issue then it may be wise to consult your physician. Things like stress and eating habits can also affect your cycle so if you have had changes in either one of these areas it is possible that this could be the cause. I would consult a physician if you are still worried about it or do not get your period in the next couple of weeks if nothing else maybe an exam would put your mind at ease. I don't think that you are abnormal lots of women despite their ages have issues with irregular periods but be aware of your own body and make good decisions to take care of yourself.

Hey buddy I didn't know u were so young. well a woman's body when she's gong through that whole puberty thing and best of all when period starts kicking in it always takes time for your body to fully adjust so it can have a regular monthly period. They say it takes the average female a to tal of 2 and a half years to fully adjust into having her normal period. This is completely normal but if ur unsecure talk to ur mom to go see a doctor. A doctor is always a good person to trust. later.

definitely is. your period won't come in regular montly cycles for about a year or two. Just always be alert. If you get some clear vaginal discharge a couple of days before you get your period, be aware that your period will be coming soon. That's a sign I always get when it's time for my period. If you really are concerned about your cycles, talk to a gynecologist. I had the same problem with my period too when I first started. Good luck!

you have recently experienced the onset of menstruation, don't worry if you skip periods or have irregular periods for the first few years. This is a normal process that most young ladies experience.
you're extremely active in sports activities, periods are often skipped for long periods of time. Nobody is sure why this occurs, but it's a normal occurrence for many women who regularly participate in intense sports or other activities.

yea, when i was 13 i got my period for 5 days then i didn't get another one till a year later. even then, it would be all over the place. it happens to all girls. its the body adjusting to the change of hormones - the increase of oestrogen and progesterone (the main female hormones). Its a big change and the body is adjusting to the change

Yes because it takes your period about 2 years to work out all the kinks and become regular.

it takes around 2 or 3 years for your period to become regular...also if you exercise a lot...then that could also cause your period to be irregular...i'm sure you're probably fine but if you are worried talk to your mom or even arrange an appointment with your doctor! hope i could help and don't worry i'm sure you'll be fine!

Yes, it's normal to skip months sometimes in your first year of your periods.
Provided you're not having sex, you have nothing to worry about.
Your periods will adjust after a year or so.
