You're in the right ball park. Your figure sounds reasonable. Start putting in applications for those positions at nearby corporations. If your resume is lacking, just put in a basic application including your name, address, social #, prior work history, and a SHORT honest letter as to what you've been doing between jobs.

I have had lots of jobs, since age 16. I have not done the math, but, based on the skills you have listed. I believe you should go with working at a restaurant. you can make good money, as long as you are willing to work hard. that is the main requirement. most restaurants are willing to give you a chance, although some upscale have higher standards, warehouse jobs, can have decent pay, but the good ones are getting scarce. not very many over nine dollars that don't require a years experience at least. Security is another option. Stable work history, or at least being able to account for all time for the past ten years is the main thing with them. I have always found sales to be fun, and profitable. I have done it in some form or another for nineteen years. I am currently in network sales, and believe it gives every person a level playing field. It is the only place where you can start off with the same opportunity as the next guy, and your success is mostly up to you. If you pick the right company, it can be the best vehicle to drive you to success. the product comes second after that. There are lots if great products to market if you pick what you are interested in, and make a small investment in yourself. you can have your own business, and your income is dependent on your effort. Good Luck, and God Bless your financial situation. CW

Do you have any experience in customer service, human resources or reception? How about the skills required?

Put together a resume and starting responding to job openings. You might contact a temp agency. Frequently entry level positions are filled on a temp to perm basis. You could also build up some experience.
