In the games the Rangers won 30-3, how was Wes Littleton able to record the save in a game decided by 27 runs. Can someone please explain the save rule to explain how this was possible?

if you pitch 3 innings and hold a lead you get the save no matter what the score was

He was the Finishing pitcher and his team won
he was not the pitcher that got credited with the win
he pitched at least 1/3 of an inning
in the last catagory he pitched 3 innings

so buy the rules he got a save.

Good golly, I'm starting to miss the "did u think Berry Bonds did think steriods?" questions.

Maybe we should petition MLB to withdraw Littleton's credited save (which he earned by pitching 3 innings, per the saves rule) just to kill this hydraic topic.

Because he pitched 3 innings and his team won the game. I know it doesn't make sense, but that's the way it's credited
