Cincinnati RedStockings (now Reds) in 1869

They always have their first game at home because of that distinction.

Man, a lot of people seem to think it's the Reds - wrong, though. The current Reds team can only trace back to 1876.

The Cubs are the oldest team that has never moved. They have played every year since 1874 (though they are linked to a team founded in 1871 that didn't play the following two seasons). They were originally known as the White Stockings, and went through several other names before becoming the Cubs.

The oldest team overall is the Atlanta Braves, who started play in 1871 as the Boston Red Stockings.
