Well for starters: How did you manage to secret over 300 slaves to freedom through the underground railroad? Were you ever scared for yourself? How did you manage to set up all those safe houses? All of this was well before the Civil War...in the 1850's. Later she was a SPY for the Federal forces in South Carolina! She was also a nurse and a cook and she even went on a raid with Colonel James Montgomery in 1863...that was successful! I bet it was a very exciting time indeed!
By the way it was Harriet Beecher Stowe who wrote Uncle Tom's Cabin...no relation .

Have you read Uncle Tom's Cabin? That's where to start. And I think Old Uncle Tom might make a good interviewee. Harriet Tubman was a preacher's daughter who fought against slavery by hiding her message in her book. But she wasn't around during the origins, but she definitely saw the evil in it.

There are a number of questions you could ask Miss Tubman. For starters, where was she born?
How did she manage to escape to freedom originally, like when she freed herself?
What particularly influences her, for example, the Bible, the abolitionist press, speeches by abolitionists, etc.
Has she ever met Frederick Douglass?
Has she ever met William Lloyd Garrision?
How does she feel about the Women's Rights movement, and ladies like Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony?
If she has one wish for African American People, what would it be? Is it freedom from slavery, the vote, equal rights with white people?
And lastly, if she is blessed enough to live to see all black people free, how would she like to spend the rest of her life?
I'd avoid specifics about the Underground Railroad, in her day being involved with it could get you hanged, and too many specific questions would arouse suspicion. She must have been very clever and "cagy" to avoid capture for so many years.

Hmm Do you think mankind enslaving other men and women was the first sign of mankind loosing his instinct to survive or was this action a needed and timed tool to survive ?Possibly a balance and or co-dependency.

I would ask her "Who were your influences as a child?"..."Why did you feel compelled to free slaves?" "What did you hope for the future?"
