While its not MLB, maybe this is what you're looking for-

On May 28, 1916, Jimmy Claxton temporarily broke the professional baseball color barrier when he played one game for the Oakland Oaks of the Pacific Coast League. Claxton was introduced to the team owner by a part-Native-American friend as a fellow member of an Oklahoma tribe. Within a week, a friend of Claxton revealed that he had both African American and Native American ancestors, and was promptly fired.

ok your question needs to be re-worded. because a lot of people are going to lose points. jackie robinson IS the first black player to play major league baseball. i think what u wanted to ask is who is the first black person to play PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL. there were a lot of other players like bud fowler, william edward white, moses walker who played in professional leagues. you have to go as far back *** 1871 to find black players who have played major league baseball/ i.e. professional baseball. but jackie robinson IS the first black person to play in what we now know as MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL. the other leagues didnt hold the title of MLB.

umm i think i have moses walker in my answer first. so give a brotha some credit. damn
