Yes, I have seen it happen time and again. You try to be courteous and let them cross and then they walk like a turtle crossing the road and get annoyed with you when you want them to pick it up a notch. I haven't noticed that it is black people doing it more than white ones. I think it is an equal opportunity annoyance. I also move along and give a wave of thanks when someone offers me that courtesy; the pokey ones act like they are royalty and you are putting them out. Unbelievably rude!!

oh dear God yes..i live in st. louis and what you say is true..i'm like you, i run once i find i might be slowing traffic..but for some reason, brothers think that it's not cool to run out of the way of a white person..it's very strange..another strange phenomenon i've noticed about black folks, black males actually, whilst walking on the side of the road with the direction of traffic, as you come up behind them, they ALWAYS turn around and make eye contact with you, and if you watch in your rear view, they do it with every other car that comes behind them..some don't, older black men, and melvin looking blacks don't...very strange.

Call the cops, they are obstructing traffic.
People should be more careful, and always more considerate but, thats not going to happen.
A road rage incident lead to a guy getting killed where I live. I just read about another leading to a woman being in the hospital in a coma, and two men being hospitalized, after being beaten by 7 people that chased them down after they backed out in front of someone. So, be cool.

Only had that happen once and found it annoying and IMPOSSIBLE to comprehend. Why would someone I'm going out of my way to be polite to intentionally work so hard to be so rude in return? Well, since they frown on killing people for rudeness I merely made a point of NOT noticing, not giving the satisfaction of showing that I was effected in the least.

HAHAHA LOL I have been one of those people in a car ready to hit the person walking across the street and the person walking slowly accross the street. I dont know its just something people do. They feel its their natural born right to cross the street and the driver cant do anything about it. They know they can take as long as they want and you cant do anything about it.

omg
go to a campus!
This girl yesterday walked out in front of a concrete truck at the cross walk. He had to slam on his brakes! She is lucky.
Dumb rich spoiled brats dont know anything about heavy trucks and how fast it takes for them to slow down.
The day before A girl ran across the crosswalk in front of me while talking on her phone! I almost hit her, I had to slam on my brakes too!
When I was growing up, I was taught to look right and left before crossing the street. What happened to these kids?
Can they not be responsible for looking out for them selves?
I would never walk out in a road with out looking!
This is my pet peeve also. Crosswalks drive me nuts. And the people taking their time like they have no where to go.
Just joking about going to a college campus, its a freaking nightmare.

As drivers, we are supposed to yield right of way to pedestrians. There is nothing to prevent you sticking your head out driver window & yelling "Get a move on will you, please you snail."
A lot of people behind the wheel, and as pedestrians, are idiots. They have cell phone glued to ear and one hand, pay no attention to their surroundings, no consideration for others.

Here's my philosophy: If you act like you're in too much of a hurry to wait for me to get across, I am going to take my sweet time. If you paused and were polite by waving me across, I will move quickly.
