Ozzie Smith! His on base percentage was amazing and he could defend every inch between third and second as well as some of the territory on the other side of second base. He could run territory out into the outfield, and was a true team player. Also, he was number 1 for the Cardinals and the back flip didn't hurt.

Hanley Ramirez will be the greatest Shortstop of all Time.
He is only in his second full season and already has developed into an amazing player. He can hit with both power and average. Right now he is batting .333 with 23 HRs, 64 RBIs, and 39 Stolen bases. Hanley Ramirez is also a decent defensive SS.

Honus Wagner dominated the game like no shortstop ever has. Of course that was 100 years ago, but he still is the most impactful player to play the position.

It has to be omar vizquel. he is what you want in the field and taught himself how to hit. he is the all time leader in fielding percentage with .984 for shortstops, he has 11 gold gloves and is probably going to get his third straight this year, second highest number of gold gloves for a shortstop, and has turned the most double plays of any played in MLB history, that is just defense. he taught himself how to hit. he learned how to handle the bad and has the 5th most hits by a shortstop, second in the last 50 years, and he has always had speed with over 350 steals. a 3 time all star, 2 alcs won, 6 division championships, the only non american to win the hutch award. he won the willie mac award in 2006 for his pirit and leadership and he was the captain of the venezuelan team in the wbc.

I think Jose Reyes for like this year because he is fast, has a good bat, and makes great plays. For the whole time of Baseball Honus Wagner because he was an all around great player.

Cal was natural third baseman with that kind of range. Jeter hits for high average, homeruns and fields like a shortshop. A-rod is a third baseman now.

I think it was The Wizard of OZ. Ozzie Smith was incredible and the plays he made only boggled the mind. He was also an offensive threat, especially when runners were on base.
