Boil EVERYTHING you use that touches her down there or the baby. Sissors are for cutting the unbilical cord (make sure you don't do it RIGHT away unless there looks like there is problems. The few seconds of extra nutriants can help teh baby in life. Tie the string in two spots (TIGHT) then cut between them. Make sure you have something to suck out the babies nose! Its how they breath that small.

In the time since your last question on delivering a baby the ambulance should be there.

The boiling water would be used to sterilzie/sanitize things like the scissors.

If your girlfriend really is in labour get off yahoo questions and get a doctor/midwife/paramedics to come and help.

If you can't or won't call for professional help which will probably save your baby's life by the sounds of it, then go get a responsible adult to assist.

You will need to get her to a hospital as soon as the baby is born anyway as it sounds like you have no idea what you are doing and there is no way that anything people write on here is reliable - I have viewed some of the answers and they are dangerously WRONG.

Call an ambulance now.

The boiling water sterilizes string and scissors, the string is cut into two pieces, tied around the cord and the scissors are for cutting the cord between the two pieces of string.

I would guess the water is used to sanitize things, and the string may be used to help tie off the umbilical cord

Your questions are pretty freaky. Make me think you are going to abduct a pregnant woman and deliver her baby. Strange.
