I am aware I am in chex systems for problems that I had with my bank...I have paid that off...
Does anybody know once I paid off the checks how long it takes to come off the chex system?
Can I open a bank account with another bank

A lot of banks will open a checking account for you as long as the debt has been paid. A credit union is probably your best bet tho. They offer 2nd chance bank accounts normally. Good luck...

I hate when people answer questions and talk about things they don't know anything about. As if they know all the policies and procedures for every bank in the entire world...

Anyway, there are banks that offer services to clients with less-than-perfect banking backgrounds. For example, Woodforest National Bank (www.woodforest.com) advertises something called "second chance checking" for individuals who are listed in ChexSystems.

I work in a bank, and of course, you wouldn't be as satisfied with these kinds of banks as you would a bank with higher qualifications, but you can obtain all the basic services and the opportunity to regain a healthy banking relationship.

In the world of "buy here, pay here" car lots and "no credit check" loans, there's always a way around a sticky past. Sometimes, bad things happen to good people. Good luck in the future.

A lot of places have gone from one year to three years since you've had a bank account closed. In my experience 95% of people who have had checking closed for NSF activity also continues NSF activity with the new account. Just call around every place and ask what their policy is for opening a checking when one has been closed a year ago. You might as well tell them because they'll find out anyway. You'll either find someone who wants to soak you for NSF fees or someone who might believe in you and give you a shot and another checking account.
But just food for thought - just one $25-30 NSF fee buys a lot of money orders.

I used to work at a small, local credit union. We would give people a chance who had a Chexsystems record by setting them up with a savings account first, and then after a pre-determined amount of time let them have a checking account.

You end up in Chexsystem for bouncing checks. You will never be able to open a bank account until you clean up those bad checks. Even then it may take awhile.

You are a dead horse. Once you in the ckex system all bank are notified. No bank will give you a checking account. Learn from your mistake, improve your credit score and maybe in five years you will be allowed to open one.

Go to a small, local, credit union. Then treat them like gold, they'll look out for you in return.
