I assume you mean--simplify the expression.

(x^-1+y^-1)/(x^-1-y^-1)

Multiply numerator and denominator by xy and you have:

(y + x) / (y - x)

[(1/x)+(1/y)]/[(1/x)-(1/y)]

multiply it with xy it becomes

(y+x)/(y-x)
