To girls who have had a breast reduciton did you gut your insurance to pay for it?? My girlfriend wants one but doesnt know if she could get her insurance to pay for it or not. She doesnt have back pains or any thing, but she's worried about having them in the future... That and she dosent really like them (she probably got a small D and wants to go down to a large B or so).

And if you did get you insurance to pay for it how did you go about it??

My insurance paid for it 100%.

Make sure she goes with a PS who is in her health plan, or else she will pay more out of pocket.

I went and saw several PS's during a free consultation. There they took pictures and noted my complaints and they handed it in to the insurance company (You will have to check your own insurance company's procedures) and after four weeks give or take they will let you know if you are approved or not.

I had this done Feb 2006 (38J to 38C) and I do not regret it one bit. I am much much happier.

Have her check out this site. It has a ton of information! Or contact me.

My insurance paid 100% of mine. It was deemed to be medically necessary by my doctor. She will have to meet the criteria for this procedure. Backache, neck pain, rashes under the breasts, indentations from bra straps etc. there is a list. As long as it is medically necessary the insurance should pick up the tab. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions about this procedure AT ALL. Just put Breast Reduction in the subject line. I will be glad to help you out with anything I can.

Pain or no pain I suggest that she should claim that she has back problems. The insurance company wont pay unless there are back problems or any other physical problems caused by the breasts themselves. Good luck.

Well, depend on the insurance coverage. I would check with insurance agent before you make any plan.

She shouldn't have a breast reduction if she isn't having problems.
