By your sophmore year in high school if you plan on getting into a good school. Increase your extra curriculur activities/ interests and make sure to keep at least a low A or high B average. Otherwise you will have to play catch up later and it is no fun.

Start thinking about what you want to study when you're a freshman in high school. You don't have to know what you want to be, but as you take classes, try to pick out what you like about your favorite ones and that can help you make decisions. Start getting involved in activities outside of the classroom. Start thinking about the SAT and take the PSAT in your sophomore year. Try to pick out some of your top schools in your junior year and start visiting colleges by the fall of your senior year.

start thinking about when you first start high school or are in middle school. work on keeping your grades up and partaking in extracurriculars that will make you stand out against your college competition. Also do lots of volunteer work. I would seriously start thinking about which colleges to apply to by your Junior yr..and make sure you send the applications in on time...but also remember to have some fun in high school!

Now. Think about what you are interested in studying. If you already know, then find out what classes you need in high school to get you on track to get into the kind of program you want. Learn about the colleges that have programs you are interested in. When you are a junior in HS you can visit college campuses to help you decide which school you'd like to attend. Talk to your school counselor about when to apply to the colleges you are interested in.

They say at the beginning of high school. Plan your high school coursework, to make sure you take all the classes you'll need to graduate & get the pre-college classes you need.
