Why do we have to go to school? What good does school do for us?

SCHOOL MAKES YOU SMART, OTHERWISE YOU'D ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER TO YOUR OWN QUESTION!!!

I'm only 16, but those people just really annoy me. And when they drop out of school, they always get their GED later and realize they made a mistake. I could understand if you were born into money or could get recognized for a great talent, but the chances of that are 1 in a million, so just get over it and stay in school.

People who ask why they've got to go to school are people who aren't learning anything there, and aren't enjoying anything there. They probably should be allowed to quit at 14 or 16 and get some menial job, because that's the only thing they would be good for anyway.

It was made very clear to me when I started school (aged 5) that school was for learning things. After sitting in class for a few months and *not* learning anything new, I started looking for a new reason to stay, and I decided (at age 5) that it was simply to get this diploma that will allow me to go to college and get a career. I have to admit, I *did* learn some things in school (eventually), but I studied other things just by myself and didn't worry much about what was lacking at school (because I always felt it was lacking), or what grade I made (because in the subjects I considered important, they were high, and in other subjects, I just passed). I treated school as a sort of "rite of passage".

lol. One of the things I've learned about school is that school isn't for learning. I don't let teachers and guidance counselers brainwash me. I really hate it when they try to do that.

Yes, school is about getting an 'education' but that is ENTIRELY different from learning. You need school obviously to go to college, and college is useful.. But other than that, it's essentially pointless. I'm done with school, and I did not learn CRAP from school since about elementary school. Everything I know now I learned on my OWN.

Moral-Don't depend on school for learning. Depend on it for your education.

If you were smart, you'd let those people drop out and flip burgers at McDonalds...and then you can come through the drive thru with your brand new environmentally safe car!

haha. i agree. so many people take it for granted that we have school. they hate school, yet they should be happy we have school established in this country. some places dont have school. some places don't complain about getting an education. we all take it for granted, even myself.
