Oh dear- Charley Horses are never pleasant.

You might try a b-complex supplement, some gentle stretching exercises (after the pain is gone), or even using sport drinks to replace a few electrolytes.

Are you a teen by any chance? It might be part of a growth spurt: I used to get cramps like that when I was that age, but I eventually outgrew them.

If that doesn't work and you are well past your growing years, a visit to the doctor might be in order.

Good luck!

Make sure not to point your toes when you stretch. Keep the foot bent at a right angle to your leg. You might have over used the muscle, it could be stress, or it could be that you are growing (I don't know your age). I got lots of them when I was in college. Then I got them again when I was pregnant.

A charlie horse. If it isn't from low potassium can also be caused from a pinched nerve in the back area. Taking diuretics can also cause this.

How limber are your muscles? If you hold your leg in one position for too long then stretch your leg muscle it will cramp up on you if your muscles
aren't limber.
