Because they are different, and that is a sin in the ignorant person's mind. These people would like you and the rest of the world to become just like them, but why should we care for their opinions? We still live in a mostly free world, and that gives us the freedom to choose who we love and how we organize our life. No one has the right to dictate another person what they can or can not do.

well actually, compared to when I was little....gays are very accepted, but of course more equality is needed

people don't like anything out of the norm and the norm has always been that gays remain silent about who they are and the rest of the world is happy....everyone, but gays of course....the tides have been changing for some time and it's a good thing....everyone should be who they truly are, not what someone else wants them to be

I dont mind, i even like to see two hot lesbians walking and holding hands =0) its a nice thing to see, and im straight, european, christian who dont care about the gays, and lesbians, and i didnt vote for BUSH lol

I think your premise is false. I don't think gays are "unaccepted." Personally, I don't care what my neighbors do in their own homes. Gays seem to want to shout their sexual preferences from the rooftops. Keep your mouth shut, and learn some boundaries, and no one will bother you.

Most people are suppressed bisexuals, and when people interact with gay folks, then it brings their bisexuality to the surface.

People who are trying to keep this hidden get enraged, and wrongfully take it out on gay folks, rather than looking inside themselves.

People are afraid of what they don't understand. Being gay is different and therefore scary.
