Kaboom!!! It would de devastating if he left. The possibility of him going to BAWston is the apocalypse. Even going to Queens would be a killer. And don't joke about Santana unless it's a straight up free agent signing. The first two or three names they'd want would probably be Hughes, Cabrera and ....gasp.... Chamberlain.
Kaboom!!

I think there will be a small possibility that A-rod will come back next year because there is basically no other team that CAN afford him. But good thing Santana is ready to go if A-rod isn't coming back. In my opinion I think Santana will do awesome playing with the Yankees. So no worries. =)

The guy would have to be a FOOL not to come back to the Yankees.... where else would he get the money he gets NOW to play for ANY OTHER TEAM----no other team can AFFORD him actually... except maybe Ted Turner and the Atlanta Braves... I think A-Rod is quite happy right where he is---and the fans are sure liking his being around.... By the way I will BE at Yankee Stadium Tuesday 8/28 at 7:05PM for the game with the SOX... !!!!!! Darned EXPENSIVE tickets but well worth it...right on the first base line Field level.

Hey, don't thumbs down me if you ARE an A-Rod fan.... I think he's GREAT and I truly want him to stay a YANKEE!!!! I was only saying that I didn't think any other team BUT Ted Turner's team could afford him.... and that's PROBABLY the truth!!!!!

All he wanted was the Yankee fans to accept him. I did , the day he signed. But your real hardcore fans, are harder to please. Well I think even they, have to be satisfied, this season. I wouldn't blame Alex Rodriguez, if he thumbed his nose at them, they were really cruel to him. That kept breaking down his confidence. I think the Yankee Management will give him anything he wants to keep him. Alex and Scott Borus, hold all the cards. He will be back, I listen to Mike and the Mad Dog, all the time, they have been wrong many times. I like to listen to Mike and Mike, on ESPN. I haven't heard anything from them yet. When a player comes to your team, you should support him, regardless of a bad season, here and there. It is wrong not to. We are their support system, without our cheers, they won't flourish. If the fans had been kinder to Alex, we wouldn't even be having this question, or the worries about whether he is going to stay or not. N.Y. stick by your team. Don't just pick and choose the moments you want to like a player. They are part of our TEAM!!!!! If you have the desperate need to BOO, so darn badly, BOO, your own conduct. We may lose the best thing that has happened to the Yankees, since Derek Jeter, because New Yorkers, are fair weather fans. I am a New Yorker, but I will never boo, my TEAM!!!!!

If he leaves all it proves is that he is more worried about money than winning a WS! i mean face it if you hate the yankees or not they will win at LEAST 1 WS in the next ten years. no other team can gaurantee the playoffs every year and a chance to be world champs. his legacy will be screwed if he heads to his 4TH TEAM!!! i have always liked arod and think he got treated unfairly his first couple of years, but now he is loved by the largest fan base in sports. why throw that away, and why would the yankees let him go when all he will do is draw record breaking crowds to see him break the HR record. it doesnt make sense for either side.

A-rod said he wants to be a yankee for the rest of his career. We would hate to lose him because hes a future home run king and that title belongs in NYC!!! and santana should be a yankee

Well, I am already not the biggest A-Rod fan you'll meet and if he opts out I will burn him in ethegy. He is untradable to a team like, say Anaheim or San Francisco because he's already a 25 million dollar man. That's not enough? You need 30? Wow, you greedy little pig. If he opts out, I will go from a non-supporter to a freaking hater of A-Rod.

Sad thing is is that he will opt out. He will not be wearing pinstripes in 2008 (Yankee pinstripes. Hell, he could go to Philly, or to the Mets, or Twins. Better keep my mouth shut to a certain extent)

I say good riddance. He's just a overpriced ego that can't deal with his own poor performance in the post season. Let him go and use the money on pitching. Pitching wins Championships. I don't think Santana will leave the twinkies...

hes not going back inless he gets the money he wunts
and a new contract, so as they say dont count your chickens before they hatch he is the best player they have and they have lots of money so it all depends on how bad they wunt him back!
