Mars is rising about 1am right now. The moon, on the other hand, is already in the sky at sunset and is working its way to a full moon and a lunar eclipse. The two will be nowhere near each other this week. And, if you are referring to some claim that Mars will look as big as the full moon this week, well, that appears to have become an annual hoax.

After midnight, rising in the eastern skies (ET) one can see Mars as what resembles a very bright, red star. Mars is in Taurus currently and quite near Aldebaran, the alpha star, itself quite bright.
With the moon and Mars both being on the elliptic, there are many occasions when the two are near, or occulting. Mars will grow increasingly closer to the moon, as seen on Earth, as the autumn progresses, crossing behind the moon sometime in December.
The talk of some bizarre event between the two (read all over the web) is a HOAX.

I don't really know. But the way I always find Mars is to just look for a slightly reddish or brown star. Mars is the only object in the night sky that is an off color.Or you might say any color. If it doesn't look like the other stars, color wise, Then it's Mars. After you've picked it out the first time, it's easy from then on.

Mars will be close to the Moon next on the morning of September 4, when it will be 1/230 the size of the Moon, a tiny pinpoint of light. The email currently circulating about Mars and the Moon is a hoax.

Mars is easily visible to the naked eye. Go to www.skymaps.com and get a celestial map for your time zone to see if mars is currently visible in the night sky. Hold the map overhead and orient it to the cardinal points of the compass to locate mars.
