Would you try and save a total stranger if there was a small chance you could die in doing so? Would you try and save a loved one even if you knew that you would both die100% anyway? Why would you do it if you knew you would both die 100%?

Thanks

Honestly, I don't think that I'm that heroic. Part of me is selfish, I admit and the other half is scared. I'm only 16 right now, but I know age is not suppose to be an excuse. Maybe when I get older, I'll become less selfish.

As for now, I probably would try to save a stranger because it doesn't matter who is in danger, a life is still a life.

The answer to your second question is no, because, like I said, due to my selfish reasons and fear, I wouldn't risk my life. But for someone that would say yes, I think that the reason behind the life-threatening choice is that they can't bear to see someone die without trying. Some people might say that it's worth a try but think about it, you're putting your life on the line.

I don't think I could stop myself from trying to save a loved one at any cost, but a stranger, I wouldnit try unless there was a good chance of survival. For example, if a building was burning really fiercely, I would go in to save my child, but not a stranger since I'd likely die doing so. If there was only a small or medium chance of danger, I would definitely try to save someone's life even a total stranger.

I'm NOT heroic, but if I could by chance save a life even that of a stranger, I wouldn't think twice to do it.
If you say "try to save" then there must be even a slim chance to snatch a loved one from the claws of death. I'd GO FOR the slimmest chance to save my loved one even if it could mean dying. We're all gonna die someday anyway, so dying with a loved one is all worth it. And by the way, I BELIEVE so much that FAITH can move mountains. God-willing, we could both be saved by it.

I like to think I would be then I think about leaving my daughter without her mummy and doubt myself. But really don't think it's a choice. If someone is dying I would have to try and help. I'm a Christian so I'm not afraid of dying.
I would die for my daughter even if I knew we would both die because I wouldn't want her to die alone and scared and I know I couldn't live without her anyway.

Hi I think instinct takes over when one see a person in danger and adrenalin kicks in and one just go's into auto pilot and does what comes naturally to try and save them, I think most peoples answer would be no, why? well coz they are not faced with a situation, they are only faced with a question, so theres no expectation there. try and save a loved one? if one new that both would die, only a mother would be tempted to have a go because of that strong motherly bond

Well... everything you do, you have a small chance of dying, and if I had the chance to save someone then hell yeah I would take the risk. Now people I love, there isn't a risk not worth taking, I would go the distance, no questions asked.

I have been heroic before and my common sense was not at work at the time. I cannot swim but I was like "oh sh*t ! That lady and her kids are gonna die!" so I just jumped in. Once in the midst of the flooding waters it dawned on me that I couldn't swim , what the h*ll am i doing? But it all worked out and God must've been shining on me that day. I save the lady and her kids.

I did once when I was a kid.......I stood up in an amusement park ride to close the gate after it came open. The girls I was with were freaking out. I don't know why..........I did it on impulse. And it is hard to judge whether a situation would be 100% fatal sometimes.......but because I love my wife I think that I would jump in to save her if I could
