I am unable to view my desktop. The taskbar isn't on the desktop either. I am also unable to right click on the desktop.
I am using task manager to access the internet. Does anyone know how I can get the desktop back?? Also, does anyone know the filepath to system restore? I have windows xp.

hi, when mine did that, I had to go into safe mode to restore it. If all's you're seeing is a blue screen, you need to go into safe mode, (make sure your important things are backed up first) and choose system recovery to reinstall windows.

Another time I problems w/pc, I couldn't see the task bar or view my desktop, and it was because my hard drive failed. and to replace.

**safemode: Turn off pc, and turn back one, before windows has a chance to load, keep tapping F8 key

If all you are seeing is registration and it is asking for your OEM code, pull up task manager, hit browse, go to desktop and right-click on My Computer. Then look at "registered to/under:" and copy that code over to the fields on registration window
