They will not suspend your license if you are making payments. If you have not made payments go to the child support office. Talk to them about making a payment plan.
START PAYING.

There's lots of fun things they can do to you. Although I'm not sure suspending your license makes sense because then you'd have a harder time getting to a job.
Though it is tempting I'm not going to sit here and pick on you. My dad never paid his child support in full then died when I was seven. Financially he supported us better after he was dead through the survivor benefits social security sent us. My husband has fallen behind on his child support a couple of times through job changes and moves in that quest to find the better paying job--though never to the extent you describe. When that happened (and thankfully he's been current for over 7 yrs now) they garnished our tax returns for what was owed until it was paid up. Thankfully there was never a judgement levied on him or things would have been really complicated.
Child support is tricky. Yes the child or children do need financial support from both parents even after a divorce but courts have a marvellous habit of counting every cent the noncustodial parent maybe might make in overtime and other things if he kills himself doing it and when the custodial parent is unwilling to adjust child support without going to court when there's a just job change or other children to factor in then the noncustodial parent can fall behind. Though I admit a $20k arrearage sounds like you haven't paid a thing. It would take us 5 years to be that far behind.
Do what you can to catch up. Let them garnish your wages and surrender your tax refunds until it's done. I know that's going to create a hardship for you but these are your kids and they deserve the best you can offer, even if right now that's financial. Don't let personal feelings for or about your ex guide what you do for your kids.

Well, you are sure a selfish person. You wonder what will happen to you! What about your kids that you have neglected by not paying the child support? You sound like every woman's worst nightmare. Instead of worry what will happen you, why don't you go get a second job and start paying your ex wife the money you owe her to support your kids. Your kids might actually want something to do with you when they grow up. Men like you end up alone when they are old. They sit in some crappy apartment and they wonder why their kids don't want anything to do with them. Here's why.

Are they not garnishing your wages ?
The passport offices now refuse passports to people with overdue supports .
There are many things . . .
How can you be so cruel as to create a child but not feed or house it ?
Stop being a jerk and take care of your offspring .

The same things will happen to you (only slower) as if you had stolen $20K from ANYONE!
Stealing it from your own kids is low, though, don't you think?

It all depends on what state you live in. They will suspend all professional licenses. I don't think they will suspend your drivers license, unless you have a CDL(Commercial drivers license) then they will suspend the CDL part of it.
