A pizza hut driver did it to me with my debit card, cost me a $35 overdraft fee for the tip the driver wrote for himself. I talked to a few other people that it happend to as well. Just wondering if this is a major problem.

I hope you called the pizza hut and made them fix it. I had this happen once not from pizza hut - but at a resteraunt - I paid with my card and my friend left a cash tip (we left 20% cash) but the charge showed up $15 above the bill amount. I had kept my receipt and I went back to the place and showed them that I had put a huge X and my initials in the place for a tip and I wrote out the total - so how is it $15 was added? They refunded the $15 and gave me dinner for 2 free. I also explained that I had left a 20% tip in cash on the table. It has never happened again - unfortunately some people are dishonest - call that pizza hut and tell them what happened. And from now on - clearly write on the charge slip and initial it and keep your copy or be sure you have an accurate receipt.

are you sure they didn't automatically do it? I went to a resturant paid credit/debit for meal, but left cash tip. i got home and looked at my online account, and it showed more then i had paid. i called card co, and it came down to : some places just automatically deduct the tip until it gets in the system that they didn't tip with it. not saying your wrong or anything, i wanted to call the place and cuss out the server for "stealing" more money after i gave cash tip. you should definatley put a o with line through it or write cash where the tip line is on reciept from now on.

Whoah! That would cause me anger for sure. Tip in cash and pay in cash - or check your slip before you sign the credit card receipt. That is ridiculous- the driver should never write his own tip regardless....

In Canada, you have to okay the amount, and you have to enter a pin# on a debit card, so it is impossible for that to happen. Unfortunately you do not have to enter a pin for credit card, so I never in my life have used a credit card for a delivered fast food item.

I haven't had this problem, and the company should be able to reimburst you if it happened. I don't buy from Pizza hut but from Papa John's.

Not lately, but I have heard lots of friends talking about it. I try always to use cash when possible for exactly this reason.

No problem with me, at the bottom of your receipt just put amount to tip or put zero. Did you call and get this person fired.I would..

Um...this is COMPLETELY ILLEGAL. Notify your bank. Notify the manager. You could press charges for this...the driver will certainly be fired. So, yeah, you could help KEEP it from becoming a major problem.
