Hold off on fruit juice as long as you can. Fruit juice has a lot of sugar and it's not nearly as good for them as real fruit. I'd wait until he's at least 12 months but even then, I'd only give it to him once a day or you could also dilute it with water (half juice, half water) and give it to him twice a day with a snack or something. That way he wouldn't be getting too much sugar.

My mom is a nurse that works with a pediatrician and she said to start solid feedings at 4months of age and to start with cereal like barley , rice .After cereal than gradually go to fruit's . But when you start something new stay with that for about three days before going on to something else, just to make sure the child doesn't have any allergies. It's not true that the baby may just want juice all the time, at least not in my case, cause it seems like my child may like milk over juice. Have the other people here forgotten or don't know milk is sweet as well. Have you ever tried your own breast milk ? just a little drop of it? It's sweet and because breast milk is sweet they put a little bit a sugar in formula most likely to try intimate the taste of breast milk. But there a far cry of a difference. For one if you ever use formula it stinks right out of the can or bottle.
They have juice for babies made by Gerber, after you start cereals and fruit. Juice you may start baby juice because others would not be good for baby. But you don't need to worry about juice .Right now all your baby needs is milk and your lucky. My baby is 6months and I was just told I can, and should feed him 3 times a day . I was also told to give potatoes and rice, almost have food were eating, basically food with a little flavor.

When introducing a sippy cup at 6 or 7 months old it's suggested to use water. If you can, hold off until at least 12 months before giving juice, or that's all your little one will want since it's so sweet. The only thing a child needs for the first 6 months, is breastmilk, and/or formula.

Yes juice should wait until at least 6 months especially if you are not going to be introducing him to solid foods until then. For right now all that he needs is the breast milk or formula whichever he is on.

My pediatrician didn't recommend juice until 9 months or so. He said they will prefer the sweet taste to other things. When we did give him juice later on, we diluted it my half for a long time, I still do that now and he's 18 months.

Im going to bypass against the grain with this one. whilst my daughter grew to become into 2 months previous (she is now very almost 8 years previous), she wasnt getting adequate breastmilk or perhaps formulation didnt seem to fulfill her. So I positioned merely slightly of cereal in her bottle. She did large! She grew to become right into a happier toddler and no well being issues got here up. I now have a 11 week previous son and have started out giving him cereal interior the bottle to boot. He has been ingesting 6 ozof formulation each 3 hours on the grounds that he grew to become into born and in no way have been given happy. incredibly I say do regardless of is superb to your toddler, and your self. you're his mom and could comprehend whilst he's waiting or no longer. solid success!

We started giving my niece juice at that age but we always diluted it so it wasn't so sweet. I'd check with his pediatrician.
