Since everyone is mentioning tips, how much should you tip on average at a middle class hotel/motel?

not many hotel maids get tips in the US and their pay is probably just above minimum wage.

Minimum wages; few if any tips. Hard, can be demeaning, often yucky work. But of course a lady has to do it when her kids need to be fed.

Minimum wage but they do get tips. Not often enuff.
