"debwils_4kids" is right.... MAGIC is in town... aprox 115,000 ppl in town for the convention. That is only one of the conventions here during that time.

Hotel rates in Vegas are purely based on supply and demand. There are two things working against you here. First, there are two large conventions in town. These group gobble up rooms like there's no tomorrow. Second, it is near the end of the Summer. College kids and adults all seem to look to squeeze the last weekend out of Summer and make it count. these two factors mean that Vegas will be packed and room rates will follow suit.

Labor Day weekend.
Why not look at the Fiesta in Henderson. Sams town, or even Sun Coast on the border of LV-Henderson.

It is just before labor day. The last big fling of summer. The sad thing is that one week after labor day the prices go way down.
