My baby just turned 6 months old. During the past two weeks she has started crying before bedtime, right as soon as we go into her room and turn on the lullaby cd. She never did this before. What is going on?

Our bedtime routine is go into bedroom, turn on lullaby cd, do diaper change, put on pajamas, then rock and nurse to sleep. I put her into her crib when she's just barely asleep and she drifts off peacefully. It's just before the rocking/nursing when she's crying.

she is smart and knows her rutine, she may be gowing through a growth spurt and want to eat sooner. or she just dosn't want to go to bed. just try the rutine a little earlier, if t doesn't help, just keeo it the same and she will get over it

Babies cry to get attention. It is thru crying that they know they will be given attention since of course they can not talk out what they want. So we mothers check the diaper and if she wants milk. First check for diaper rush. Then try giving hers facifier. It really helps. Or you can try turning off the llulaby cd or try other cd or you sing to her a llulaby. Your voice mean a lot to your baby. Babies always wants to be hug, so put a round pillow on her side. You can also make her hug one when you lay her on her side. Touching and rubbing also helps.
Babies attitude really changes every month. Even her needs other than food, changes as she grows up.
Active babies crys a lot specially boys. Because if your baby very seldom cries, there is something wrong with her and you need to have her check by the Pediatrician.

She problem loves playing and being with you that she doesn't want to go to bed. Baby probably realizes you go away once the rocking and breast feeding is done. Does she cry before naps? If she doesnt cry to long or hard Id leave her a little while to cry it out. Im not a big believer of this but shes probably trying to get more time with you buy crying close to bedtime. (????)

I don't know the answer but this is what my friend with twins did. She took them to a baby psychologist who said a smart baby figures out the routine and knows that soon you will leave her. She 'knows' if she cries she can keep you there longer. The suggestion for her was to put them to bed even if crying and leave the room. I was never able to do that, it was heart breaking for me to let my baby cry on and on.

~ It sounds like you have a good routine going, my question would be : how long is your baby crying for,, if she is just crying for few min, she probably knows the routine and doent want to go to sleep, if she is crying longer than usual, it could possibly mean she is teething, or has tummy ache? If you think you baby is not feeling well, I would call her Dr and he/she should have some suggestions.

She may be associating the cd w/ being "abandoned" in her bed, or it may be a relief thing "gosh I'm so tired, oh thank goodness there's my night music."
Try the routine without the music and see what happens.

because your baby is growing she could be getting hungry at this time and may need to eat more often or more. or maybe she now understands that when you do this she must go to sleep and some babies just don't feel like they need sleep even though they do.
