If it is a rabbit 95% of its diet should be hay and veggies (no lettuce though) with pellets to fill in the extra 5%

Despite what some people say, veggies are not an essential part of the diet if they're getting the proper amount of hay and pellets. You CAN feed them veggies, but there are other ways.

The idea behind feeding hay is to provide rabbits (a grazing animal) with a constant supply of long fiber. When you chop the hay up into pellets, you lose the 'long fiber' part.

Stick with alfalfa-based pellets and whole timothy hay.

NO. The majority of a rabbits diet should be a good grass hay, like timothy. NOT alfalfa. Then, the rabbit should only have 1/4 cup of pellets per 5 lbs. of body weight per day. Fresh vegies and fruits should also be added in moderation.

You should give him hay, pellets, and veggies. Loose hay is important because it helps wear down the teeth. It also helps a rabbits body keep moving. Without hay, a molting rabbit can easily go into GI stasis.

timothy hay is actually not a replacement to normal hay, it actually holds more neutrients than normal grass hay. It is just a type of hay.

Some are but even if they are, you just still give your bunny hay since it helps with digestion.

you would give your bunny
practically only hay
but you should only feed it like 2-3 oz of pellets
and fresh fruits and veggies for treats
prolly like once or 2ce a week if your just starting

ooh and if you give him veggies,
watch out for stuff like calliflower brocolli and lettuce
it may cause upset stomache and diariah for the bunny.
