There are logical lessons that may not reach the heart and leave us, relatively, cold and unmoved. The lessons of the heart, emotional lessons, may move us to act and reject the popular world view. Emotions are more powerful than reason and lead our 'reason' around by the nose. We can accept lies more easily and distance ourselves from reality and call it real, even if it's not. Distancing is our greatest asset to control our emotions. Emotions are our greatest asset to motivate us to change the world rather then intellectually 'accepting' it and rationalizing, "we can't do anything about it." Maybe not about the past, but we can change the present. Attitude or lack of feeling, both do change the world, first us, then our part of it, and our attitudes go around the world like a virus, for better or worse. If we understand emotions, Emotional Intelligence, we can stop the virus in us, then those around us and that's how an epidemic is stopped. We either spread the disease, of stop it, when it comes to us, like carbon rods in a nuclear reactor control or stop a nuclear reaction, but we continue to rationalize, 'reason', that we can't do anything about it. Well at most don't, but each one of us can. One sick individual can start the whole chain reaction of hate all over and thats why tuberculoses and so many other diseases are coming back. The innoculation is to love one another, not the subject of science, according to popular belief. Top level scientists, though, don't have such an antiquated view of science and they study everything. And they and ordinary people are organizing now to make a difference.
