Having spent several months there, I think very highly of the Brazilian people. I have many, many people I met that I consider good friends and some I consider 'family.'

I loved the people, the music, the food, the dancing, the futebol, etc. It was a great experience to immerse myself in the culture. I will never forget my time in Brazil.

Now, that's not to say that Brazil doesn't have problems (what country doesn't?). Granted, I may not be as familiar with some of these things as I probably should be in order to comment on them, but it seemed there was a healthy dose of corruption in the government. This, and other factors, have led to a very wide spread in social classes and other social ills.

When I hear the word Brazil I think of Sao Paulo. I've been there four times already. It's a great town and as well the people I met are great and kind.

I think beaches
Statue of Christ the Redeemer.
Those ribbons that you tie around your wrist with three knots and when it falls of your three wishes will come true (I had a friend who went to Brazil and brought back some of those ribbons and they had some Brazilian/Portuguese writing on them).
I also think of Capoeira
Samba dancing in those bright costumes
Carnival and mardi gras
the movie "City of God" and the series "City of men"
I also know it's the home of some of the Victoria's secret models.
