I think I would be. He was my favorite baseball player growing up, so I would be one of the fans celebrating the achievements of Barry Bonds, provided...

I would especially the way his career was about seven years ago, he was phenomenal. In my opinion his arrogance over shadows any accusation of steroids. He is just not a people person. He pretty much thinks he is a big shot, that no other player will ever be as good as he was. And in my heart i truly believe he took steroids with the other accused players.
So my thing is retire while your ahead and take all the glory and records you broke with you because in the end everyone will remember Hank Aaron as one of the best, if no the best player in MLB history.

I'm glad to see that the Barry Bonds haters are still bitter up to this day. For what, I'm not sure, but it has to be something like they were abused as children, or ignored by their parents 24/7, and as adults, they need attention.....
Rage does not befall normal people in that manner! If I were to accuse an innocent man with a crime that he did not commit for 365 days a year to his face, I'd be a jackass for doing so, and am sure that these people with problems do not know or cannot absorb the true facts of Barry's issues.
Steroids or not, record or not, I'm just happy to see that I was part of history at AT&T Park that evening, and am happy that there are angry people out there that cannot cope with reality! I'm smiling about the record and they're probably contemplating suicide, which is fine with me!

As a Dodger fan- i could never like Bonds.
As a basefall fan however, i want to respect him.
But i think not only has he been a jerk to the media- but he has friends sitting in jail today- protecting his reputation- and he's letting them sit there because he can't own up to the truth- which i think is a darn shame.
I respect that he's a great ball player and that he still has to hit the ball- but the record in my eyes will always be tainted- which is why i hope someday someone will break it who will not have his integrity questioned.
Kindly,
Nickster

I loved Bonds when he was in Pittsburgh, and after he left I still watched him play. To be honest, I don't think there is a person that could be worse for the game of baseball to hold one of the most hallowed records.
His trainer is in jail for pete's sake.
No matter, he's holding A-Rod's place warm for a couple years.

No we would not. America as a whole would be in denial and would throw all kinds of accusations because the "best" record in American History of Sports is being broken and America can't accept it.

If he wasn't a rude jerk and he didn't take steroids it wouldn't bother people that he broke the record but he did take steroids and he is a rude jerk so it does bother people.

Yes we would becauase if he did it natural there would be no reason to hate him.
=After Thought=
Saying that just because Bonds never tested positive he did not do steriods is like saying Al Capone never murdered any one because he was never convicted.

yup, then he'd deserve it.
since he took steroids, i'm not happy because he took the title of home-run king away from someone who actually legit worked for it (hank)
