I would suggest a different reptile, honestly. Chameleons are very high maitenence and expensive to keep and house. They are also quite touchy and get sick easily. I would suggest a reptile that is easier for your first, such as a bearded dragon or leopard gecko. If you really REALLY have your heart set on a chameleon.... RESEARCH research research!!!! and when your eyes go blurry from reading so much..... READ SOME MORE! :) Chameleons are quite complicated, your best bet is to do as much research about them as possible, get a book on them, etc.
Also, don't rush into it. Save the money and do the habitat right, price everything you need, heat, habitat, uv, humidifier, drip system, etc. And don't skimp on anything, You don't want him to get sick because of something that could have been prevented. Good luck! And if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

I got a veiled chameleon after gaining experience with other reptiles. They are a bit trickier to care for, but if you're willing to invest the time and money required to provide correct housing, temperature, humidity and feeding, they are wonderful animals. Definitely not the types of lizards that should be handled much--it stresses them out. More of a "look at me" type of pet. Good luck! You may want to drop in on the forums at reptile rooms and talk to other reptile owners about their chams and other reptile pets.

chameleons are cool and all but they are like 80 dollars!! at least in my pet store. might I recommend some Green Anoles? they are a little gecko-lizard type thing that changes colors from green to brown, etc. like a chameleon but at the store where chameleons are 80 bux they got Green anoles for 5.98...can't beat that price. and if you happen to kill them because you don/'t know what you're doing at least they're only 6 bux a piece :).

Chameleons are nice pets. Depends on the chameleon. Most reps have their own mind and it depends on their own individual personality......it also depends on how much time you are willing to give to a certain rep

You can find many reptiles in downtown London. Beware though as they prefer to appear as affluent humans, such as elite bankers and powerful politicians. I don't know if they would make good pets. Be afraid of anyone with RH negative blood.

they are delicate and difficult to take care of. they require very specific humidity and stress so easily. for a first reptile, i would get a leopard gecko or even bearded dragon- both docile personalities and relatively easy to care for. they will actually tolorate being handled as well. anoles are easy to take care of, but are so boring and don't really dig being handled or bothered. if they get out of their cage, good luck catching them. you could also start with a snake like cornsake or kingsnake.
